There is a Godzilla in all of us...
Yesterday the actor and performer known best for his portrayal of the King of the Monsters, Godzilla, passed away. He was 88.
When I found out I felt some sense of peace if I'm honest. It's sad when one of your heroes passes on for sure, but there's something rewarding about knowing his life was so impactful and noteworthy. As Godzilla he inspired and enriched the lives of millions of people, mine included. I never knew until I read about his Godzilla roles that he was a part of so many of my favorite films. The original "Gojira" is without question a masterpiece. Both versions are in my opinion. And it's always amazing to me how much life an actor can bring to a lifeless suit.
I'm grateful to know the identity of the man that brought such human-like qualities to one of the world's most famous monsters.
Rest easy Nakajima-san, and thank you.
